Yahoo Discontinues Products And Services In Mainland China

Recently, the Yahoo China official website announced that starting from November 1, 2021, all users cannot use Yahoo's products and services in mainland China, but it will not affect Yahoo's products and services in other parts of the world.

Yahoo was once the world's first portal search website, with business in 24 countries and regions, providing diversified network services to more than 500 million independent users around the world. It is also a global Internet communications, commerce and media company. In September 1999, the Yahoo China website was launched. In August 2005, Yahoo China was wholly acquired by Alibaba Group.

In 2013, China Yahoo Mail, News and Community announced the suspension of services, and the original team will focus on the dissemination of Alibaba Group's public welfare undertakings.

In addition, in 2015, Yahoo announced the closure of Yahoo’s Beijing Global R&D Center and exposed 200 to 300 job cuts.
